Los Angeles
What better way to spend a week out of school than an exhausting trip to LA! None of us had visited Hollywood or the surrounding areas, and the kids had never been to the pacific ocean. When Google Flights popped up with a super cheap seats on American Airlines to this location over spring break I had to jump on it. Someday I might do a blog post on Google Flights, but for now you can read how the search engine works on this link: How To Use Google Flights. If you don’t use this service, you should.
If you are friends with me on Facebook, you will know we covered a lot of ground during these 7 days. The photos and video posted on social media are only a fraction of what was taken. Because of this, I plan to make a blog post focusing on each day, what we did, how long it took to get to each location, if it was worth the time, money, or effort. We enjoyed every single thing we did, but I know our adventure level might be far above others, so I will attempt to be as honest as possible on the more exhausting or expensive options. The wonderful thing about LA is you can spend a ton of money or almost nothing and still have a great experience.
I’m also going to give some product reviews. Keith and I made it a very tech Christmas, and this was the perfect trip to try out the new drone and video cameras before hitting the road in May. After observing most of the footage, we absolutely needed some practice and experience with our gear. Kenzie learned skipping and bouncing makes for sea sickening GoPro footage. Keith learned he needs to keep his camera facing one direction when flying the drone. Of course, I still had my trusty Canon camera and we both used our phones extensively, but our new items were very fun and should bring depth to our video and photo journals here on the website.
