May 31st, 2019: Day 3

Today was mostly a travel day.  We made a super quick stop in Roswell just to say we did, then moved on to Albuquerque, New Mexico to meet up with Keith’s parents for lunch and hugs.  We will be spending the week with them while in the Grand Canyon area, but as they were coming from Arkansas and we were driving up from Texas, we just happened to arrive in Albuquerque near the same time.  The parents are driving on, while we decided to stop and really enjoy our campground.

Journey KOA is really a step above the average.  It has a mini golf course, a pool, hot tub, corn hole, horse shoes, play ground, multiple shaded dog parks for different areas of the campground, a fire pit for large gatherings, laundry, extremely clean bathhouses, and plenty of level sites.  We selected the pull through water and electric site for $50.00  The sites with sewage on site were $20 a night more and as we were only staying one night, we will simply dump at their free station as we pull out.  It isn’t a big deal if you are staying for only a few days and will not fill up your tanks.

The location is super convenient and I would highly recommend this location to someone wanting to see this part of the country and make it a fun vacation experience.
